Disposable vape guide

A short guide to reading a disposable vape's specifications, so you can compare the devices we carry and look after the one you choose.

Puffs

The puff count on the box is the maker's rating, measured with short, even draws. Real use varies: longer draws, higher power settings and more airflow all use e-liquid faster. Use puff counts to compare devices, not as a promise.

E-liquid volume

E-liquid is what really sets how long a device lasts. British Columbia limits vape tanks to 2 mL, so the larger devices sold here keep 2 mL in a sealed tank and hold the rest in a separate container: 2 mL + 10 mL on the Elf Bar AF12000, 2 mL + 13 mL on the Flavour Beast Hydra 18K and 2 mL + 18 mL on the Allo Ultra 65K.

Nicotine

Canada caps nicotine in vaping products at 20 mg/mL, and every device we sell is at that strength. What differs is the form:

• Nicotine salt is smoother to inhale at high strength. Most disposables use it.
• Freebase and hybrid nicotine gives a firmer throat hit. The ABT G32 uses a hybrid blend, and Fog Formulas' "Intense" nicotine is also made for a firmer hit.

Battery and charging

Larger devices recharge over USB-C, often without a cable in the box. A device with a lot of e-liquid needs several charges before it runs dry, so charge it whenever it runs low.

Power and airflow

Some devices let you adjust the hit. The ABT G32 has six power modes from 12 W to 28 W: lower modes stretch the e-liquid, higher ones give a warmer, denser draw. The Flavour Beast Hydra 18K has an airflow slider: closed down for a tighter draw, opened up for a looser one.

Refill containers

When you fit a new container, wait about a minute before your first puff so the coil can soak up e-liquid. A dry coil tastes burnt and wears out sooner.

Safety and storage

• Keep devices and e-liquid away from children and pets. E-liquid is poisonous if swallowed.
• Don't leave a device in a hot car or in direct sun, and stop using one that is damaged, swollen or leaking.
• Charge with a standard USB-C cable and power source, and don't leave a device charging unattended.

When it's empty

Disposables contain a lithium battery. Take finished devices to a battery or electronics recycling drop-off rather than putting them in the household garbage or recycling.
